A model turned actress, Liv Tyler was born on July 1, 1977, in New York City, New York to parents Steven Tyler, the lead singer of Aerosmith and Bebe Buell, a model and singer. Adorned with unusual beauty and natural talents, she started her career to stardom through modeling. She grew up in Portland, Maine, with her mother Bebe Buell and has presumed Todd Rundgren was her biological father, but when she was 12 years old, she found Steven Tyler's daughter Mia Tyler looked like her twin and the truth came on light, and then she changed her name from Liv Rundgren to Liv Tyler.
With a brisk career in modeling she leaped towards big shows making remarkable contribution in some selected world famous movies. She is mostly known for her roles in 1998 blockbuster movie Armageddon and the Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001–2003).
Career in Movies
Liv Tyler made her film debut in 1994 as a sister of autistic boy in Bruce Beresford's Silent FaIl alongside Richard Dreyfuss and Linda Hamilton, but apart from her debut role, she got significant career boost by her appearance in Aerosmith music video for the song “Crazy” around this time.
Her next project in 1995 was Empire Record which was failed to generate success in both commercial and critical levels. She then appeared in James Mangold's Heavy the same year and gathered much acclaim for her role. However, her career breakthrough came next year when she played an impressive role in Bernardo Bertolucci's Stealing Beauty and surprised the viewers. She proved the world that she is not just an upcoming actress but the powerhouse of talent. Soon she was appeared on magazine’s cover and voted one of People's "50 Most Beautiful" in 1997.
Another notable movie that brought her to limelight was Armageddon (1998) which was released on her 21st birthday and become a hit at box office. Movie based n 19th century Russian novel Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin, she played the character of Tatyana Larina. Her role in Armageddon is followed by other two movies such as Cookie's Fortune and Dr. T & the Women.
Liv Tyler’s another hit movie was Lord of the Rings trilogy: The Fellowship of the Rings (2001), The TwoTowers (2002), and The Return of the King (2003), where she played the role of Arwen, an elf that falls in love with human, Argon played by Viggo Mortensen. Movie was based on the books by J. R. R. Tolkien, film series was hugely accepted by the viewers across the world and is still the favorite of many.
In the peak of her career she got married to English musician-singer Royston Langdon and soon entered to motherhood the next year by giving birth to son Milo, she sidelined her career to spend time with her new born baby and family and did a single movie Lonesome Jim in 2005, and Coin Locker Babies in 2006. But her talent, stamina and determination of achieving more in life brought her back again on track and she was seen in Reign Over Me with Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle in 2007 and there are many upcoming projects where she will be seen playing more challenging roles.
